My wife has an old HP laptop running Windows XP Home and we recently got a new one to replace it. The new laptop was running Windows 7 Home, so the task was how do we move all the "current settings and files over". If you wanted you could export and save all your files one by one, but we came across a handy tool offered by Microsoft that did it all for you.

What I would recommend before doing anything is scaling down your current work environment and deleting and removing any excess file and junk you don't need anymore. Also it is important to note try to do this on a new "fresh" system where you have not reinstalled any of your needed applications just yet,
Then proceed with using the "Windows Easy Transfer" Tool. You download the tool on the original system you would like to migrate from. You then install and run the application and it creates one large Easy Transfer file either on your (USB, network drive, etc.).
After you have the Easy Transfer file you go back to your new system where you need all the old files migrated to and proceed with the "Windows Easy Transfer".
Everything is pretty straightforward within the walkthrough provided by Microsoft. Now its off to enjoy Windows 7. Adios to Windows XP ;)

How to Remove Little Snitch - Mac OSX
I have had a MacBook Pro for sometime and being a converted windows user I felt the need to lock down certain ports and what not. I evaluated the program Little Snitch, however it became to be more of a nuisance then a valuable tool. I scanned the web high and low for the best way to remove this application, as the simple move app to trash was not doing the job and the applications remnants were still there.
I noticed it was still there when I checked my active process list and saw it sitting there:
0 54 1 0 0:06.29 ?? 0:19.79 /Library/Little Snitch/lsd
So then began the scavenger hunt ... move the below files to the trash.
/Applications/Little Snitch Configuration
~/Library/Preferences/at.obdev.LittleSnitchNetworkMonitor.plist
~/Library/Preferences/at.obdev.LittleSnitchConfiguration.plist
/Library/Application Support/Little Snitch/rules.xpl
/Library/Application Support/Objective Development/Little Snitch/registration_2
/Library/Launch Agents/at.obdev.LittleSnitchNetworkMonitor.plist
/Library/Launch Agents/at.obdev.LittleSnitchUIAgent.plist
/Library/Little Snitch/Little Snitch Network Monitor
/Library/Little Snitch/Little Snitch UIAgent
/Library/Little Snitch/lsd
/System/Library/Extensions/LittleSnitch.kext
Once all of the the above files are removed and trashed. Reboot and you should be golden and Little Snitch Free.
